Hey everyone! I'm new here on Tundras.com and wanted to introduce myself. I've been a 2014 DCSB OR TRD Tacoma guy for the last 10 years. I bought that truck new back in the day and have been the sole owner.

After much devotion and soul searching, I decided I was getting tired of loading kids in car seats in the back of my Tacoma and the lack of space I had (I feel like it used to be so much more!).

I frequented TacomaWorld with my last rig and loved the community there. I am excited to be joining here for my next journey with my Tundra! Hopefully you'll see me around on the forums.

    Thanks!

Welcome! What’s the spec on your tundra? Any pics or plans for it?

Thanks! I actually don’t have it yet lol

I’m driving up to pick one up tomorrow. Right now I have a small deposit down for a 2024 SR5 Lunar Rock with the premium and convenience packages (among other small things) but I’m gonna see what else they have on the lot when I get there then if nothing else catches my eye just go with that one.

As far as plans, I’ll probably drive it like it is for a while to get used to it (especially coming from a Tacoma) then see what I would want to upgrade first. I’m a guy that likes to keep things as close to factory looking as possible but really enjoy those simple, yet satisfying mods that improve the experience while driving the truck.

For example, I’ll probably upgrade the rear view mirror first. I think it’s gonna be the standard, manual mirror. I’ll go with the powered auto dimming one with homelink. I’ve seen a thread on that floating around here somewhere.

Good looking truck. I was in the same boat as you. I had Tacoma's for the last 30yrs and they did everything I needed them to do. Alas, the grand kids got bigger and the Tacoma back seat seemed to get smaller. It's taken a little getting use to compared to the Tacoma which I miss but for now this fits the bill. We took it on a very long 6 day road trip with the kids and it was great. Plenty of room, good ride, and decent mpg for a big truck. Hope you have many enjoyable and trouble free miles.

Thanks! Yes, it’s taking some getting used to coming from the size of a Tacoma for so long. The 2.5hr drive home yesterday was great and luckily I don’t have any buyers remorse. It’ll serve me well for many, many years I hope.

Welcome from Raleigh NC! I just purchased a 24 last week coming from a dcsb Tacoma. Loved the Tacoma but a car seat in the rear really shows how small it is. Loving mine so far - everything but the gas mileage!

Looks like we were both in a similar situation! You’re not too far from me. Yeah, I’ll have to see how mileage is over time. So far it’s about on par to what my Tacoma was averaging lol Just so new to tell

Welcome. I made a similar move, though I went for a 2021. You’ll love the space and towing capacity.

Welcome from Apex, NC. I went from a 2011 (and before that a 2003) Taco to a 23 Tundra. Love the extra space.
