Hi everyone. I am working with a vendor who is looking to make these aftermarket steering wheels. There will be heated steering wheel options available also. If you had the choice of steering wheel which one would you purchase?

Please help vote the one by liking the comment below for the appropriate letter. Once I give the vendor the feedback I’ll work on a group buy promo code for the help. :) thanks everyone!

Might want to add a poll to the thread if you are asking people to vote.

In general, most don't want carbon unless they have other carbon accents so the A is the better option for appealing to more folks, even better if they can offer without the marker stripe since not everyone wants red or the stripe (even if black). So if they are trying to get into the steering wheel game for the 3rd gen I'd go with A or an all black version to get more folks on board. Otherwise all look good, the question becomes the base cost and then cost for the real carbon which will affect if people buy and what.

I've done some work myself with getting companies to make steering wheels, hence why I chimed in. Glad you are getting responses and hope its a good result. Good luck

I think B looks best and if im shelling out money to upgrade my wheel im going to want it to look different than the stock so carbon and red stripe all the way.

    None of those.
I hate all those cheap aftermarket steering wheels.
I'd stay with original toyota oem

It's basically someone(s) arts and crafts project with very cheap quality leathers and fake veneers(cf).

Basing it on the quality I know they are made from. They are worth $200 , at the most, new.

They truly are junk. Chinese cheap stuff

Tell me this is not someone's, some cheap company's arts and crafts project.

Tell me this arts craft project is better in quality what TOYOTA CORP. makes.

I've seen these types of wheels many times. I'm not just saying things.
and if you do like it, I'm telling you it's really only worth $200

A SR grade tundra with a polyurethane base model wheel is better quality than these aftermarket wheels.

Just to fill you guys in... i recently spent over a year going back and forth trying to source some of the highest quality Nappa leather for an automotive project im doing.
I finally settled on leather from the same supplier a few big European car companies use. And it cost me $4k for a 4 full hides.

And I tried to avoid spending that much by looking at other leather options. I got samples from every where, and studied every thing on the market.

Those steering wheels use the cheapest Chinese perforated leather. If you do like those custom steering wheels just know the leather very cheap, and perforated, and will not last more than 2 years before degrading and looking crusty.

    I'm not just spewing nonsense.
$200 new , is the max those wheels are worth.

I educated those that might be tricked.

$200 offer them that at most.

It's someone's arts and crafts project.
That cheap rubber they molded, how are they going to guarantee it would not deteriorate with time? We got to take their fly by night operation word?
Pay $800 and just trust them.

The original toyota wheel is best. If you want to upgrade get the limited wheel, platinum wheel, 1794 wheel, capstone wheel... might cost more but it's a real toyota part

Would be nice to see something different than all the current options that are exactly the same. Your option A/B is no different. lol Personally, I’d like a wheel wrapped in alcantara.

Here’s mine with real carbon fiber and leather where it matters. Only thing I’d change is black stitching. Seems like everyone does red with the red stripe.

I always find it interesting how a grown arse man will try to tell other grown arse men what they should and should not do with their money. Lol
Also I would bet a Tundra Recalled Motor that Toyota sources their steering wheels and their leather along with other interior parts in some far away country that does not speak English and has workers making $4.25/hr.

@stretch2323 Are you using Toyota cores for your steering wheels? That's the key in marketing for me. Aftermarket steering wheels are big over at the Mustang groups. I bought a VERY NICE leather/carbon replacement on my GT500 to replace the Alcantara (hate those) wheel. They used genuine Ford Mustang cores and customized to the buyers wants. Pick the leather in each section, pick the carbon location, pick the stitching, etc.

As for choices . . . "A" all the way. Also Stretch you could make the "red" stripe in different colors or none at all depending. I've seen them in White, red, orange, blue. Blue would be very cool for my Platinum with the blue stitching.

Good luck and keep up posted!

B isn't going to look good when that carbon fiber gets scratched up and changing color from the sun.

So, you want a wheel wrapped in plastic? LOL. J/K... I have alcantara in 2 of my other cars.. But not on the wheels. However, I am right about it being plastic (ok technically polyester and polyurethane). Most people have no clue about this.. And are scared to clean it. That shit is the nicest synthetic for interiors around, and so easy to clean.
