New spacers, new noise

Put 1.25" spacers on yesterday and now hear a weird clicking when I turn the wheel.. bad install or bad spacer?

 

Kind of a vague question, even probably for all of the great minds here. Pics of your install and a vid of the noise would probably help things out if you can.

 

Are you referring to 1.25" strut spring spacers or wheel spacers?

 

Sorry, wheel spacers.

 

Not sure if I can get a video of the noise as it is subtle. The best way I can describe it is a minor CV click

 

What type of spacers did you use?
Are they hub centric?
Did you torque them down, drive it about 50 / 100 miles then re-torque them?

 

As long as the lugs are torqued properly, spacer shouldn’t affect anything that would click. Try like said above and check or retighten the lug nuts.

 

I did not retorque them. I will pull the wheels and do that this morning.

This is also a rookie question, but should I have used Loctite on the spacers as well? The spacers didn't come with any and I didn't see anything in the instructions that said it was needed.

Are you sure it's not just the tire rubbing on the bumper or fender liner or something??

 

Not quite true, each manufacturer has their own specification on hoe to install their spacers.
The answer to you question is "Follow the manufacturer recommendations".


I also would have guessed your rubbing on the wheel well or mudflaps somehow.

 

My apologies I meant to.post the follow-up. I retorqued them and all seems well. I'll do some more driving on them and see how they hold up for another 100 miles or so. If they don't loosen I'll chalk it up as a win. Otherwise I'll get the loctite or just bump up to the larger wheel.
