new sound system review - kenwood + focal + JL subs and amp

I bought the sub box, 2 JL 12tw1 shallow subs, a JL RD900/5 amp and the sub volume knob from James. He recommended Hertz speakers but i really wanted Focal K2s based on he reviews. I found the head unit at Crutchfield. I had bought a 1037 from Amazon but this was the same price and a little voice said "if its the same price get the better one" lol

the front tweeters were installed in the dash not added to the sail panels. they sound great but i may have them moved. they said the speakers need a couple weeks to break in. I have to say I was very apprehensive about the subs / sub box based on what i have read from people unhappy with bass quality from a crewmax enclosure.

My short review is the system is incredible. The sound is warm and powerful. the subs blew me away. I drove around playing 'copy of a copy' by nine inch nails over and over. wow. THAT is what i was hoping they would sound like. Deep and Tight - not muddy at all. I love the sub volume knob - i cant imagine this system without one. I played Fleetwood Mac, Norah Jones, Sade, Van Halen, Radiohead...I love this system and it is absolutely everything I wanted. I have not played with it much - I need to find the best sound source - i know its not compressed music over wireless carplay - and adjust the sound settings. The headunit is perfect for me. I thought the bigger screen wasn't necessary but the first time I saw the map I was glad I got it. the Focals sound phenomenal at 0 - 80% volume. I need to break them in and adjust everything before I have a final rating but so far it sounds like every component I bought is a 10 out of 10.
