    Hello All!

Going to be purchasing my first ever Toyota Tundra today/this week and very excited. The models in my area range from 2008 to 2010 around 180k miles. I've heard only good things and how long these trucks can last.

Using this truck for general every day leisure, home depot trips, and some properties I own in Pennsylvania (commuting from Bergen County New Jersey) so definitely will be a decent amount of driving.

Will be doing an oil change immediately when I buy the car, but would love advice on other pieces of maintenance I should do when I first purchase the truck, or upcoming things I should look out for/do preventive maintenance.

    Any help would be great.

Looking forward to being part of this community!

Check the frame for rust as you’re in the NE a lot of these Tundras rotted out. Another couple of big $ known issues are the SAIP and the cam tower leak. I have an 08 and even though mine was in great shape when I bought it in 2016 w 80k it needed the frame and SAIP to be replaced (warrantied). Other than that it’s been solid

@Mattyc thanks for the information! will definitely check for rust/rot. weather is tough out here at times. what is the SAIP? not familiar with that. Googled the cam tower leak and looks straight forward. All the trucks I'm looking at (I'm assuming) is out of warranty so will try to fix myself if possible
