I’ve posted before saying I’m looking for something under $30k.

Situations have changed and I need to be closer to $20k.

There’s a 2008 SR5 double cab TRD with 99,000ish miles. 2 previous owners and no accident damage reported, no rust, looks like regular maintenance. I’m also more of a grey, black, white guy - but don’t want to pass up a good truck with the mileage and what I’m looking for.23E64408-1A02-4C4E-8568-51499BEEC500.jpg Gonna test drive on Sunday. Asking $19,900. Inventory is rough where I’m at. Interior looks okay from the rough pics - rip in driver side seat but I understand it’s an old truck. Just got to the lot and hasn’t been detailed.

Just looking for guidance as I go check it out.

Looks like a nice truck. Previous owner appears to have cared about it and added some personal touches like the wheels and the rock warrior shifter. Assuming all checks out a 2008 5.7 SR5 DC 4x4 with 99k miles is certainly worth $19k.

If everything else goes OK, that seat can be fixed with some katskins or even just a seat out of any wreck from anything (Tundra (edit)) to 21 nearly. That seat alone would be a bargaining point, not a consideration.

As long as it runs well and is not rusty underneath, that looks like a pretty good deal.

I think I know the answer to this - but this truck just posted in my area. 2007 5.7 crewmax limited. Lots of mods. 164,000mi asking 19,995….I know it’s probably not worth it but it looks so good!

Forget about how a truck "looks" when you are buying used. Concentrate on finding a truck in good condition with a good history and then make it look the way you want. Be sure to factor in a comprehensive inspection prior to buying and don't be afraid to travel some distance for the right deal.

Remember also that people will generally want much more for the aftermarket crap they put on their truck, than it is worth. First thing I would have to do with the second truck is swap out those god awful wheels and tires and maybe remove the lift, depending. But, different people like different things.

Are you attracted to that set of wheels?

Both the trucks you posted pics of have the same wheel, about the same lift and similar running boards.

If that is what you want. I would focus on finding a good Tundra, and adding those 3 things. Not looking for them in the truck at purchase. Look for something closer to factory and well taken care of.
