Greetings all. I live down in Atlanta and I've been a life long Toyota fan, having owned a Corolla, a Camry, an Avalon, an FJ Cruiser, and currently a Sienna. Never had a single meaningful issue with any of those vehicles.

I'm into car racing and my daughter is into horses, so I need something that can tow up to 6-7k while still being a good family car for trips and a part-time daily (I also have a Porsche Cayman that gets part-time duty). Carvana is coming to pick up the Sienna in two days, and I'm looking for a Tundra CrewMax on a budget of $15-20k. Most of what I'm seeing in that price range is from 2007-2013 and has 100-170k miles. Any reason I should be concerned about that age or mileage? Any common failure points to watch out for? Thanks in advance.

    Welcome from NY.
The only this to watch out for would be the cam tower leak.

Search the cam tower leak posts.

    You will love the Tundra.

    Welcome from Kirkwood.

For reference: I bought my ‘10 CrewMax Limited 2wd with 125k miles for $17k about a year ago through a private sale on Car Gurus. The comparable trucks at dealerships and used car lots were not nearly as nice and more money. You might have to do some searching, but you should be able to find a nice truck in that range.

Just started reading up on this. Sounds like it only affects 2010+ trucks? Does it have any real consequences or do you just have to top the oil up more often?
