    Hi there,

I have an 07 Tundra DoubleCab Limited w/ 127k miles and an electrical problem(s) that maybe are related?

My cigarette lighter USP adapter cannot charge my phone as the voltage constantly fluctuates. Purely coincidentally, I recently searched for a relay that doesn’t exist under my dash and can hear something shorting in an assembly above the parking break. Does anyone know if the lighter wire passes through this area? If not, any thoughts about troubleshooting these two issues?

    Many thanks.
    Dave

Based on my experience in toyota cigarette lighter. They have a built in fuseable link. My speculation id that the link is broken but still making contact due to expansion and contraction of the material.

Pull the socket out and check the current. As for the sound above the pedals, I do not know.

Yes, multiple. My latest USB connector has a power indicator light and it basically flickers indicating inconsistent power supply. I’m just not sure what’s between the fuse and the cig.

Thanks for sharing your truck photos. I’m embarrassed to post mine because everything is stock right now. Just began the journey of modifying my headlights to LED. I don’t have projector beams so I’m like a neutron star coming at other drivers. New projector headlight housings arrives this Friday, hopefully won’t blind others once installed. . Broke two attachment posts for the trim under the headlights trying to install the LED bulbs. Learning the hard way.

You're going to need to pull the receptacle out and check. I think this is a common issue from that era. Wife's 2006 RX has the same problem but there is another she uses instead. Probably on the same circuit so guessing it's the receptacle.
