Hello all! I'm new to this forum buy not new forums. I'm also not new to Tundra's or Toyota's! I'm actually in the car business starting in 1986! Coming to the end of my career I decided to start looking for my last truck or "Til I Die" truck! I've owned several Tundra's with my 1st being a 2005. My favorite was a 2006 TSS Crew Cab. I wish I had kept that truck! So I decided to start looking for a truck to give plenty of time to find what I wanted. Luckily for me, my position offers me a demonstrator to drive and I swap out every 4,000 miles. My parameters were Gen 2, double cab, 4X4, and no dark colors! Figured I'd have a few years to take my time and get the right one. Scanning trade in's from our dealer group it happened! Way faster than I had anticipated! Our Chevy store took in a 2017 SR5 Double Cab 4X4 in Silver with only 26k miles! Must be living right! The truck is in impeccable shape! Under carriage is spotless! New tires, 38 gal fuel tank! The goal is to make a mild overlander out of her so I can go camping and fishing with my son's in law and grand kids! Rack system, shelf and pull out drawer system, Tent (possible roof top), Dual battery, Under hood compressor, potable water system, 3" lift w/ 18" 35's' etc. That being said, I would greatly appreciate any advice, product recommendations, do's/don'ts, and of course pictures! Thanks in advance!20220513_143243.jpg 20220513_143256.jpg

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Truck looks great, Of course I like silver the best. Also consider a set of seat jackers from Desert Does It.

Thanks everyone! Yes, working for a dealer group really helps! My friends and family love it! HaHa! Skid plates aren't a big priority since I will only doing a mild overlander unless you're talking about theft! And last, not sure what seat jackers are?

Theft is real bro, not to quote business but the fact that cats per stolen per year has gone crazy, even a $1000 plates (don't think it is that much, but if you go alum and fancy coating....) is a cheap insurance compared to being out of a truck for 6-8 months.
    Welcome!

Oh, grankids, get a good set of liners for your cabs, you will thank me later. Ask me how I know....lol

Just googled and they're not that bad! $350.00 and up! Think I'll take your advice and get one. Truck is going to be sitting for long periods of time. Just purchased a nice heavy duty cover so protecting the cats and now gas tank is a good idea during these crazy times!

    seat jackets are a godsend.
If you are taller (I’m 6’10”) the stock seats provide poor seating angle and thigh support. Installing seat jackets changes the angle of the seat to a more bucket seating position.

Glad you pull the trigger and now the wait begins....lol
I have a friend who lost his cats, out of pocket deductible was $500 and the total bill (pending final manpower hours) was north of $7K, that is, assuming they have new cats coming in for his truck.
For the record, his truck has been sitting in the dealer lot for over 16 weeks now, cat-less and no love, truck-less and pissed. I feel him, but he did not take my advice (I mean, I ain't no oracle.....)
Oh, and he's still making payments on the truck....:mad:

That's crazy! You would think the OEM's would put a shield on it! Dealers are still having issues with Tires and wheel theft!

Yea, OEM ain't known for doing "logic" thinking, that's why this forum exists :D:p
But on the honest side, I am tempted to get a fuel tank skid, I have the full set 3 piece front skid/cat plates from @Classy63 but he's not wanting to dip into the fuel tank skid, with good reasons..
