Lol, catching up on all the things that haven't been addressed.
    Greetings,

Bought a *Best Gen* 02 AC TRD with 230k about 2 years ago for a song, pretty solid body and frame, but poorly maintained (was a 3rd vehicle for PO and parked for years) and with lots of interior electrical issues and general repairs needed.

Been lurking this forum since then as I replaced: alternator, radiator, plugs, tensioner pulley, serpentine, tires, brakes, trans drain and full, chased ground faults on windows, etc. Steadily building equity (along with crazy inflation) in my $1600 truck...

Starting to get really paranoid about timing belt as I can find NO records of it ever being done. Getting ready to DIY this fall using info here.

That said, motor runs like a champ, smooth and strong, and I have been impressed with how easy (other than f'ing alternator) everything is to work on.

i am not a mechanic but have done much of my own repairs over the years on my vehicles due to a tight budget, and most bolt-on stuff is no worry. Timing belt will be largest job I have ever attempted.

This forum is great and I wanted to actually join to participate and keep it going as many forums have died in the last decade which is a damn shame.

    Cheers!

He lives in Mobile. Locals would have recognized his reference to Dog River, which flows through Mobile and has a lot of nice residential areas around it. Easy access to the Mobile Bay if you live on Dog River and have a boat.
