    Former Tundra current Gladiator
I’ve been lurking on here for months and finally decided to join. I owned a 2013 Tundra DC 4x4 Grade from 2013 until 2020 and put 120k worry/ problem free miles on it in that time. In 2020 I scratched my midlife crisis itch for a convertible and bought a Jeep Gladiator. I like that the Jeep is easier to park and taking the roof off has been fun. I bought the Gladiator thinking I’d own it for a few years and buy a 2023 Tundra. My thought process was the Jeep should be reliable for at least a few years and should hold its value allowing me to get the midlife crisis out of the way without being left on the side of the road and not taking too big a hit financially. I have yet to see a new Tundra in person. When the first pictures were released online I thought it looked terrible but it has really grown on me to the point where I think it is good looking - weird how that happens. The only things that are bothersome to me so far, from what I have read, is the hump on the floor in the back seat and if the storage bin is required for the seats to rest on that is an issue. I thought my 2013 DC had the perfect combination of useable rear leg room/ space and useable 6.5’ bed space. I like a rubber floor too and I think I read that the new Tundra has carpet only. I think if I take the plunge for this new truck it will have to be a CrewMax from what I am reading about the back seat feel of the DC. I’ve built an SR, SR5, and a Limited on the website. I think a black SR CrewMax could be a great value with an upgraded set of wheels. Not sure of the pros/ cons of the detuned engine. Time will tell but I’ve been on here daily for months so I’m guessing I may end up a new owner possibly before 2023….
