I've got a 2006 Toyota tundra SR5 4.7L installed new battery and alternator and it still doesn't hold a charge, when I jump it and let it run for awhile, I take the jumper cables off and in 30 seconds it shuts off

Yo dawg, just wanna be clear, no face eating, no flakka allowed, no alligator smuggling (but I'll if you got some tail steaks, we need to talk), and what happens in Wildwood stays in Wildwood, ok?

Have you tested with a multimeter AT the alternator to make sure your alternator is putting out at least ~13v power?
If yes, did you test with a multimeter at the battery clamp to make sure it's within 1v of that reading, although half volt is better?

If yes, here's what you should do:

Your positive battery terminal should have a skinnier wire going from the clamp to the fuse/relay box nearby inside the engine bay.

Take off the lid in that box. Chances are your problem is the 100A-140A alternator fuse is shot. Follow this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/charging-alternator-problems.97131/

Specifically, see post #19 and know it can be a f'in pain in the ass to get that thing out.

Whatever you do, don't be a schmuck. If this fixes your problem, hang around and shoot the shit with us for a while. We just saved you a $500 repair bill and we promise not to eat your face in return.
