Hey guys, joining up after reading tons on this forum to keep up my truck. Here it is '02 Access Cab SR5 2wd automatic with the 4.7 v8. 237k miles. Mainly used for rural/suburban commuting and as a work truck to haul, not much towing these days but used to tow a bay boat regularly.

My father bought this truck brand new in 2002 down here in Mobile, Alabama and it has never been exposed to the north. When he passed in 2014 I sold my '05 Ranger and took over this truck. It was maintained by the dealership all those years until I took it over, the dealership did me wrong and I started to maintain it myself.

Some things I've done over the past few years:
    New radiator and hoses
    Serpentine belt and idler pulley
Timing belt and water pump (on its third now)
    Valve cover gaskets/tube seals
    Spark plugs and tubes
LBJs (oem), inner and outer tie rods, front coilovers and rear shocks. stock specs no lift
    Bluetooth single DIN receiver
Just put 4 brand new AT tires on it

    Some things coming up soon:
Drain and fill new fluids - coolant, trans, and brakes. Been running green coolant so will switch to red this time? Any info/advice/videos on these three things would be appreciated.
Headlamp resto kit...mine are pretty dull. Will look to replace lamps after they fade again.
New latch on passenger rear window, latch doesn't stay engaged
Possibly have dents pulled out of body, a few substantial dents over the years
New rear bumper, chrome, hunting junk yards for this piece

A fun story, I once had three scoops of dirt put in the bed, around 3000lbs of dirt. Completely compressed the rear suspension and drove it about 5 miles down the road at 35mph. The truck did fine and everything went back to normal after unloading.

Looking forward to learning more here. I've already learned a ton from lurking and reading all I can over the past several weeks.

    Kyle from Gulf Coast

Welcome! Just make sure you run the green coolant clear by flushing out the system with water (preferably distilled) before you change over to toyota red (or pink nowadays). You NEVER want to have a mix of green and red - very bad mojo.

Invest in some better wheels. Those steelies lived their life already.
