    Hello everybody,
I am not technically sound…. But I wanted to join this group for I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra……. Which is in good condition. I had the bearings, seals replaced on the front and on the rear left wheel. The back rear kept leaking grease after being replaced two times, after bringing my truck back for a third time (same leak) the technician is saying the“leak “ is do to a housing issue. the axle is not properly sealing with the housing assembly….. he explained that I need a “rear end assembly” with a 3.62 gear ratio rear end with no stabilizer bar for a 2006, 4.0 L, 6 cylinder motor….. I am totally confused. By the way it’s under warranty…. Help!

    Hello

    Read your post.

What are your exact concerns? I'm not sure what you want to find out.

You want to know how to source a 3.62 without a rear sway bar? You want the part # for that differential?

If they want to warranty you a new 3.62 diff, that's a win.

I’m inclined to think that the inboard “bearing retainer” and ABS rotor are being pressed too far onto the axle shaft, which will certainly cause the axle seal to leak as a gap is left between the seal lip and the retainer. This is a pretty common error, I have to admit I did it myself the first time I replaced a first gen. rear bearing

This post shows the correct dimensions for pressing, plus there’s more good info on repeat axle leaks in the rest of that thread.

Yes, how to source a 3.62 rear end assembly.
How do you find the rear end ratio for a tundra truck 2006?
