    Hello from St. James MO.
Looking at a 2WD 4door truck. Just something to get around in and do stuff around the yard/house with. Take the 100 lb white puff ball to the park and all over with, I have a very capable AWD Enclave for bad weather or as we're retired just stay home as I did my 40+ years on call running to the hospital repairing all that was broken in the OR, ICU and you name it at all hours. Someone else's job now.
But anything special to look at on these trucks besides the usual things as this one is located in upstate Illinois and there didn't seem to be any rust but the salesgal is going to send some underside pics in the morning. 181k miles 5.7 V-8 and automatic but no service history yet.
Any help will be appreciated, have done the work on my past vehicles but had a bad 96 Camry that was a rental pre-owned certified Toyota that blew the engine 2 weeks after we bought it over labor day weekend on a trip to NY. And my Mother in laws oil burning 98 Carolla that used a quart every 200 miles.
But my old boss has had 4 runners and seqoiua's with hundred's of thousands on them. SO lets see what happens if the frame and under sides looks good. it's only $12,917 before negotiation so doesn't sound bad.
    Thanks's in advance!
    Frank

    Welcome from NY.

If you have the VIN# run it through the Toyota owners website, it should tell you all of the Toyota history.

    Jim,
Thanks, from a former New Yorker from the Rome area. Was just back last year working on the USS Slater in Albany as well as the USS The Sullivan's in Buffalo. Plan on heading that way again this year if my wife's sister doesn't have surgery to mess those plans up. Damn surgery.
Well, this baby hasn't been seen at a Toyota dealer since 2015 and 37,000 mi or 9 years and 150,000 mile's. Guess I have a lot of inspecting to do when I go look at it later today/this weekend. Looks good in the photos but we'll see.
Hopefully it will have some paperwork with it to help with the decision, 5.5 hours is a long drive one way to be disappointed by a sales pitch.
Appreciate the help and maybe if I find another it will bear more fruit or I can add to it.

Well everyone thanks for the warm welcome but the truck was a bust.
So thanks and I'll bid you all a fond farewell and melt off to the dreaded world of the Ford F-150's as my friend just came thru with a local loaded King Ranch edition, 5.0 liter V-8 Coyote and none of the turbo crap... so it's off to check out that one now only 20 mi away. There are no local Tundras in good shape. Everyone is holding them tight.

Thanks Richey, Now a 2005 popped up. and only 2 hours away! 2wd, 4 doors and 158K on the 4.7L looks good with only a dent in and under the drivers door.
    Should just buff out, right?
    A mere $7,600.
