So far its had to argue that the 2022 has been a massive disappointment. But with the hybrid I'm sure it will save the day, right. Please explain something to me. What's the point of the insanely small cordless drill battery they are putting in it? Its 1.87kwh. If that does not compute then compare it to the cheapest, smallest, under performing Tesla they make which is 50kwh. No, not 5.0 but 50. The Chevy Volt Hybrid comes with a 16kwh battery. Literally, it would take 8.5 six ton Tundra's to equal the battery capacity of one Chevy Volt. In early tests the truck is getting unimpressive MPG numbers compared to its non-hybrid brother or should I say sister. My question is why? Many manufacturers have issues with battery supply but Toyota owns 51% of Panasonic which means batteries are a luxury for them. I'm asking simply because I don't know. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING being offered from this 2022 will sway anyone from the big three since it lags in pretty much everything. If you want to claim I'm angry then your a genius but please explain the miniscule battery size. My 3:30am too many Scotch Old-Fashioned spree is done and my damn A/C had to kick on today for the first time cause its already F-ing 93 in Phoenix but goodnight.

And yes, I put Scotch in my Old-Fashioned which kills the planet as it's been pointed out to me over and over and over again.

Its simple why its small, it takes up the space under the rear seat not built into the whole floor like a smaller vehicle, at a certain point the amount of added battery weight will have a negative diminishing return as the vehicles all ready heavy also the more heavy it is the more fuel the engine side will have to consume so it's just a checks and balances of trying to get the best of both worlds. :drunk:

The chief engineer claims the hybrid assist is designed to improve towing and low-end power delivery, thus why the battery pack is so small and mpg estimates so low, because it's on demand or a short time.

That being said, I think it's a stop-gap until better battery tech comes out. Toyota is rumored to be on the cusp of breakthrough tech. And only a politician would say (maybe even think?) that batteries in cars are what's going to save the planet lol
