    Recently bought a 2008 Tundra (see photo) with 40,000 original miles. I owned a 2004 Tundra previously which I loved but which ate my lunch in fuel for commuting. My old vehicle with 200K miles died plus I needed a new ranch truck so I hoped to kill 2 birds with one stone, but.... After 2 weeks this truck started throwing EVAP codes and during the cold spell here wouldn't shift into gear until it ran for a few minutes. A call to my dealer resulted in "that's a tundra problem, sorry" for the shifting issue, and now I have 3 lights on after having them replace the gas cap (their diagnosis). So, I'm here hoping to find a solution :) This truck has tons of aftermarket stuff (some of which I plan to remove) but is a beast. 5.7L towing package, 8.5 ft bed, customized interior.

    Nice truck. Hope the aftermarket kit was installed correctly and isn't causing your issues. That dealer blowing you off is bullshit. That would be a known issue from them for sure. Get an OBD II reader and see when the codes we're last deleted.

    Welcome from Ft. Worth. Did you buy it from a Toyota Dealer? Unfortunately the EVAP codes can come from a bunch of things, so getting it diagnosed from a reputable mechanic/dealer is the only way to figure it out without just trowing parts at it. The trans issue could be low/wrong fluid. Toyota WS fluid expands when it gets hot, so if someone changed the fluid and did not follow the proper procedure at the proper temp range it can cause problems.
