I apologize for the long post in advanced! Currently been researching Tundras for a few months now. I have a 14 FX4 5.0 hitting 70k miles now and have already had a few issues and just dont trust it anymore. I'm slightly upside down and want out of my 5 year left loan with no warranty. I dont mind putting my trade in leftover onto a new loan. Especially a truck that holds value and is known to be more reliable. Now my FX4 is fully loaded. Heated, cooled seats, sun roof, remote start, etc. 295/60r20s XD wheels with full exhaust levels with Fox shocks. I take care of my trucks. What I'm looking at that I feel comfortable affording is an SR5 TRD trim. Fully loaded with cloth seats. Now I would love a Limited or a Platinum but am not going to pay that much. I drove a couple yesterday, one being a used limited and the seats were not that comfortable, truck didn't phase me at all. Drove a brand new SR5 TRD and wow way more comfortable (and that's coming from a long time leather user lol). I liked it. I could do Katskinz in the future but for now I could settle. Going to look at another tomorrow. Dealer already has 6k off 48k msrp. Now I cant stand chrome. The one i liked yesterday is Cavalry Blue, the one I'm going to look at tomorrow is Cement. Which one would be easier to de-chrome? Knowing that the TRD PRO came in Cement and I could just buy the grill and upper piece?
All in all, I just need some encouragement and advice. I want a truck I can get into and not always be worrying if something is wrong with it. If I'm gonna start a new loan, I want something that will last me. Shoot me your thoughts and opinions.

Look at a few built cement tundras and you’ll be set. But I was also between a 5.0 and the tundra and it all came down to the tundra being reliable. I can pass on fancy features for true reliability.

You're right, the cloth SR5 seats are a lot more comfy than my limited leather seats. Platinum seats are really comfy with their perforated leather, heaters and grape coolers. Sounds like you did some mods to your Ford and plan to do some to the new ride. In that case, IMO, it's far better and cheaper to get the SR5 and build it the way you want. I'm not sure the TRD package is worth it especially when you change the shocks, wheels and rip the stickers off.
I think Cement will have a better resale value 'cause I think it appeals to a wider audience.
    Welcome Tyler.

    Welcome from NY.

If you get a TRD Sport there is no chrome.

Good luck and you will not regret buying a Tundra.

Welcome to the forums. How did you like the 5.7L compared to Ford's 5.0L? I personally felt like the 5.7L Tundra was more torquey but I am always curious what others think.

Both great color choices! I vote SR5 non-TRD as well if you plan on lifting/mods.

There are some great deals right now in DFW area but they don't seem to discounting Sport as much. I saw some discounts yesterday on CarsGuru north of 15%. You can do better than $6k off

Welcome from NC. Dont bother with the extra cost of the TRD pkg if you are going to lift it, you'll just be throwing money away. If you can find a sport you'll be set without any chrome. If not all the color matched parts are available. I like both colors but quicksand is better, its camo in the mud...

Run. It is a trap. You will become addicted. All of your money will go to upgrades and then you will dream of more upgrades. The trucks are great but you will become one of us.

Also Magnetic Gray Metallic is the most awesome. 25HP extra and the chicks really dig it.

I’m showing 4K in discounts on that truck.

I will say that my 1794 had a little over 4K in discounts but it was a 2018 leftover I bought last month.

You might want to run a Search for a 2018 leftover and see if you can’t get a bigger discount.

I went with the SR5 TRD Sport because I hate chrome trim and the prices really weren't much different. Then the mods started...

For that color I’d buy a sport that comes with color matched bumpers already. Otherwise it would be much easier to wrap/paint the bumper camps black.
