Goodmorning gentlemen. I have been quietly reading through the forum for two weeks now and decided to get my first post out of the way. I am scheduled to pick up my '22 Army Green 1794 (CM/ 6.5) at the end of September in NC. I live in NY (Long Island) and have been wanting a Tundra for many years now. After the wife's minivan crapped out on us 200 miles from home and 100 miles from our destination (son's baseball tournament) in Delaware on July 4th weekend, I decided to pull the trigger.

After returning home I quickly learned that I wanted the Unicorn of Tundras, an AG 1794 w/ Saddle interior, OR package, and tow mirrors. FML. A month and a half after leaving a deposit I still didn't have a build date. Did I mention that my local dealer was hitting me for $8000 over msrp too. "Not a penny less" was the actual term used. While at a local Napa auto parts store someone there mentioned Hendricks Toyota in NC and told me they didn't overcharge. Worth looking into right... I turns out there was a tiny mark up ($500.) and a dealer fee ($600.). Well that is way better than $8000. They tried to locate my truck as I wanted it. I settled on one w/o the OR package and Tow mirrors. They were wants and not needs afterall. But I dont want to go into the winter a vehicle short. Pick up date is scheduled for Sept 30.

Thank you guys for all the great info you have been putting out.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! You ought to mention your "local" dealer to help the rest of us avoid them.
