That’s what mine did. Cut the mid pipe, placed cat, weld.

Did they bother welding in a flange?

No and I didn’t ask them to. Mid pipe still connects like factory. They just cut out a section and welded them in.

appreciate the replies. I messaged them around lunch time today to ask if they would consider another gb soon before I make my purchase. Haven't heard back but hoping they reply.

Just did a 180 mile round trip towing the rzr. S5 doing 70mph. It can still get loud under load but it’s manageable. Still got 9.2mpg which is normal.

I’ve put enough miles on this (800 miles) to say I’ve got zero complaints with it. Sounds good. Wife says it sounds good. Tows fine. Drives around town fine. Highway mileage increased but city and towing stayed the same. I’ve noticed no torque loss, no having to push the pedal harder to accelerate, no issue of 6th gear being usable. I am running 5.29’s and a tune but also 34” tires with front and rear bumpers. My exhaust shop that did the cats was really impressed with the craftsmanship and design and he’s an engineer by trade. Props to @reywcms for working on the development of this. Solid system.

I received my spd cat-back system yesterday and installed it last night. I'm coming from a flowmaster outlaw exhaust, and this is both quieter and less drony at the 1700-2000 RPM range which is exactly what I was after. Installation was straight-forward -- this being my first cat-back install I'll offer some suggestions, but likely some more practiced folks will have corrections. It took about 30 minutes to put in once the old system was out (also about 30 minutes to remove).

    0. I live in FL, so rust wasn't much of an issue.
    1. Soak the bolts in penetrating oil a couple hours before you start. Put the back end on ramps.
    2. Unbolt and remove the old system. Helps to spray the rubber hangers with silicone lubricant so they slide off easier and are more pliable.
    3. Completely remove the rubber from the front two hangers (for the pipes). Replace with 2 inch worm clamps, fully open (or something similar...just need some temporary support for next steps)
    4. Fit together the exhaust on the floor on the passenger side of vehicle. Place your clamps on the two inlet pipes oriented as you'll want them, but loose.
    5. Slide the exhaust under the vehicle and over the rear axle. Poke the rear hanger into the rubber. Seat the muffler hanger into the rubber. Use the worm clamps to hold the pipes near position. Then go back and fully seat the rear and muffler hangers.
    6. Attach the exhaust connections. I removed the gasket from the vehicle side of the pipe and the SPD provided gasket fit well. The flanges fully touched once tightened, but I left them loose at this stage. Just get the bolts started.
    7. Fully seat the pipes into the muffler and clamp. I used a ratchet strap to ensure mine were fully seated, but it wasn't necessary -- just a good way to check. Lift the muffler about an inch (knee worked for me) and tighten the clamps connecting the pipes to the muffler.
    8. Fully tighten the front pipe connections. They should sit flush together.
    9. Install the two rubber hangers on the pipes (remove the temporary hose clamps holding them up from step 5).
    10. Remove the bubble wrap from your muffler, put away your tools, and go for a test drive. Try not to smile too hard. :)

Just ordered the cat-back versions (tundranation coupon code worked for 5% off). Looking forward to it! coming from a dd trd replacement 5x12 versions. Excited after watching all the videos in this thread. I am sure I'll be swayed and order the downpipes later this year lol but just wanted to start with the cat back.
