I hear ya. It's a sad world these days. Target announced closing several stores because they are tired of getting ripped off.

My wife almost became a victim of this almost 2 decades ago in my Celica. Still have a bad habit of leaving her and the kids with the car running at the time my oldest was 5, but was knocked out in the back seat, she was back there with him. Made a quick store run and I asked her to lock the doors since opening the driver door automatically unlocks both doors. Door lock button is in the center console and unsurprisingly she didn't listen. She stated a car parked right behind her, like the video and a young female that looked like my brother's girlfriend at the time opened the passenger door while a male stood directly behind the car while she reached in for the keys but stalled once she locked eyes with the wife. She retracted and they both left in the car they came in.

I have a solution for this problem.... Especially since in NH male attacking a female is automatically considered the use of deadly force. Of course, I won't use it unless I have to, chances are they will be running in the opposite direction though when they see the barrel. It's tiny, but mighty! :angrygirl:

I back in, always. Easier to maneuver.

Also When pulling forward to get out I am better able to see goofballs who cannot take a second out of their day to stop driving or strolling past my reversing vehicle so I can get out of my spot without stopping 3-4 times on the way out.

Also I can see this type of ambush coming ahead of time and be ready to "make new friends".

Put that car in reverse and f@CK that sh!tbox gettaway vehicle up. Grab that purse snatching @ssbag by the wrist and give ‘em the old, “I’m not stuck in here with you, you’re stuck in here with me now!” Business. These guys need a straight up @ss stomping. And having a gun in Your purse would have been useless in this scenario. Shooting these guys would even be illegal some places as you have not been threatened with bodily harm.

Read my post, and I do not keep my gun in my purse, it is appropriately holstered on my body. Not sure if that was directed towards me. Running them over with your vehicle could also be illegal in some places!! I also live about 20 minutes from the Sig Sauer Academy and have taken a multitude of classes that include drawing from a holster in a high stress situation etc. I am a very responsible gun owner and take it seriously, I am not some bimbo keeping a gun in my purse and hoping for the best if it comes to that!

Some places are illegal to back into spaces. So being cognizant of that.

This isn't nothing new people and not a "new crime wave"...been going on for decades. Guess news outlets are running out of negative scare tactics to report on.

More of a PSA for when the sh!t goes down. The snatch and grab occupying an arm to keep the purse from immediately being snatched would make it difficult to brandish and use a firearm regardless of where it’s stored. Tight parking lot is also not the best place to go blasting due to close proximity of innocent bystanders. I do like the claw hammer idea….

Hate to tell you this but; A) if you think ramming your truck is going to easily move a car the is sideways like that, you got some learning to do yourself. You will def injury an innocent bystander trying that. B) In theory I could easily pull my firearm and shoot one armed, that goes back to Sig Sauer Academy which sets up a multitude of scenarios for students to practice and learn. Obviously this means keeping my cool and not getting flustered, which can easily occur when someone is attacking you. There you will also learn that larger caliber bullets do not easily penetrate a vehicle's engine block area and go on to other targets beyond, so in fact, using a fire arm in a parking lot with no person in the immediate vicinity of your target and only cars is generally safe.

I am not saying everything is going to go as smooth as can be, but I am also insulted that you are talking to me like I just went to the store, bought a gun and through it in my purse and that I have zero training or practice etc. That is not the case, so please stop trying to "mansplain" to me.

You are not running over all three armed men at once and most likely will disable your vehicle too.

Good call when fighting from a disadvantage (seated and belted position) after air bags just knocked the shit out of you. Let's not mention having your unarmed teen son next to you.

    These threads make me cringe.

Wasn’t talking specifically to you, I’m sure you know your own capabilities. Not every conversation is a “person of one type against a person or another type”. Wish the conversation would stop being about that all the time and be about what it’s about. These situations don’t go down the way anyone plans, because you can’t plan for exactly how it goes down. Point is, sitting in the car screaming is not the way. Give up the goods and let ‘em run, or be prepared to get outside the box and defend yourself. Again, just in case it wasn’t clear, I’m not talking specifically to you. I was commenting on the situation.

Airbags won’t deploy below a certain MPH threshold for “sudden deceleration” to have an effect. I don’t need to run them all over. Just a couple. Then the odds are better and the enemy is demoralized.

You wouldn't have ran over any of the three robbers in the video posted. Sorry man. They were on the side of the vehicle and had a gun pointed at him and his son.

What the guy did was smart and gapped them quickly. These robbers didn't really wanna use the guns. If they did, it would have been a run up, kill, snatch, and go. That was very obvious in the first two seconds.

Give them the purse, it's not worth risking your life over anything inside of it.

FYI, this is coming from a Canadian, where only the bad guys carry. But even so, just let them have it.

And this is why I like to look at vehicles on my rearview and spot the ones that hang around for too long and during this time I stop using my blinker, just to test out a theory..... If I felt like I was being followed, I would not take them home, I'd take them to the police station, granted they probably wouldn't do anything either, but a slight deterrent.
Had a situation where I was being followed by a vehicle, pretty sure it wasn't a police cruiser as it didn't have a rack over it's roof, so I started doing random turns here and there, had this car follow me from work all the way to the police station, where I was lit up and pulled over a block short turned out it was an unmarked cruiser, LOL... He even questioned why I was making "erratic" turns, and I told him I noticed him following me and I wasn't willing to take him home with me... Then he brought up the "I fit the description story arc", which I've heard before. LOL..

You all should move to Maryland, where criminals have more rights then law abiding citizens.

Even though we are a wear and carry state, our county still managed to pass a law that you can't carry within 100 yards of a public place..

Claiming it's a law to protect our children. On top of that our state tells us not to confront the perpetrator, but in fact run in the opposite direction.

So while as a law abiding citizen, I had to go through all the courses to be able to legally carry to some degree, while criminals and any future criminals still continue to get guns. It's a complete farce, they have managed to emasculate the police force here. Taken out the schools system police resource officers. Allowed the crime rate to go up. We deal with routine car jackings, armed robbery, and robbing stores.
