New Climate Control Knobs?

Has anyone out there replaced their climate control knobs with something that feels less cheap?
I have seen, and know, that you can replace the cover, but it would be nice if you could replace some hardware under the knob to make it feel more tactile. More similar to the feeling of a manual cable actuated knob from a 20 year old car.

As @TundraMcGov. stated you can change the knob exterior with AJT stuff.
I did mine as well as some other interior mods using his products.
But creating a tactile feel would be a challenge I've never seen..

 

Yeah I saw those but they are just replacing the plastic knob to give it a better look. I’d love to actually swap some hardware so that the knobs are a little harder to turn. But after watching that AJT video, it looks like the hardware might be built into the circuit panel of the truck. So, maybe not possible…
