Question1 : Living in OR - I have to go east of the mountains in winter for work, requiring to chain up. Any suggestions on 'best' chain set recommendations? Got the BBS rims and their factory tires.
Q 2: security system - Compustar - CSX 9900AS - any push back on this? Not quite sure what the iPhone 14 Toyota App does for me along these items, just got the software upgrade a minute ago. Maybe i don't need the Compustar??? I carry lots of tools and i have been told by dealership the Cat is well protected from theft, haven't rolled under to confirm. Not sure i want/need to get 'kill' switch but want GPS theft tracking. Comments please (have had 2 gen of Tacos - now Tundra as grand-kids need leg room).

    thanks

1 - Rear only, check out this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/snow-chains-for-23-capstone.121099/

2 - Personally I would use the Toyota system if possible. Try it out first before investing more and tapping into the electrical of a new truck.

3 - Don't believe the dealership. Look under the truck and get cat shields. Lots conversations about it in the 3rd gen section of this forum with some excellent options available in the market.

Yeah, I can't help you with the first 2. Definitely try the existing system before you change it.

But for cat shields, how much do you like to gamble? Seems like dealerships are getting parts in a more timely manner but its still a big hassle and sometimes additional parts get damaged when they try and cut your cats. @Talon2006 is a great vendor and makes shields for your truck, check his prices and read some of the threads on the topic. I'm sure you will end up with cst shields after doing just some basic research. Most are about the same, it more just comes down to availability and cost to your door.

    Research your chain law. https://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/Chain-Law

You do not have to have chains if you are rated under 10K lbs. unless you are towing.
