Never thought I’d pay almost 30K for a truck with 100K miles on it…..

….but I love it and with complete service records and the underside looking like brand new I was sold.
The only thing that hasn’t been done was the transmission fluid change.
    Toyota says “lifetime”, others say
60K. I guess one is not correct. I’ve watched the video, but don’t want to doubt the OEM. Who’s right? 2015 TRD 4X4 offroad.

Welcome to the forums! That truck is just now broken in. You'll find most people on here recommend drain and fills periodically.

Peruse through the forum here and there's a plethora of information that will make your wallet lighter.

I was going to do mine this summer but the dealer quoted me 500.00 for a flush and fill..

I just did a drain and fill at home.

Easy to do. Drain/fill. Drive around for a day. Do it again, and again. It will get most of it

Did the same earlier this year. Paid $26k for a 2017 Crewmax in Quicksand. Truck included the 38gal tank, ARE bed cap, and records showing it's pristine condition for 120k miles. Still too much for that many miles but anything lower was double the cost...

I've put almost 10k miles on it in 6 months and I'm a happy camper. Congrats on the new to you truck! Change the fluids and you will be set!

Just have a drain and fill (not flush) done by someone competent using only Toyota ATF WS, and you'll be good to go.

Congrats on the new rig, and I'm sure it'll give you great service!!!

My '08 is almost at 270,000, and it's done its fair share of towing, long family trips, more than a decade in the desert heat; and the value I have received from that truck is the reason I bought my '21

Welcome to the forum from Dallas.
    Nice find, love my 2014.

Just to be clear, your truck is not a TRD Pro as in your description.
    It's an SR5 with a TRD off-road package
TRD Pros don't have chrome grilles, headlights, or bumper ends.

I see this too often at dealers. Saw one last year and emailed the dealer. They changed the ad.

Yeah, paying that much for a 100k miles vehicle does seem strange, but isn't that part of why we love Tundras? The way the hold their value?

But I think a lot of us have that mindset of 100k miles being a lot when we're used to the GM's and Fords of the 80's-early 00's that would have nothing but issues at 125k miles.

With modern vehicles going well past 100k, let alone the Tundra having such a long lifespan without issues makes spending that kind of money on it not so bad.

What you have done is nothing short of a great achievement. Now if you would have gone and paid around 70k for a brand new pile, AKA turd gen, that would be something to question. Enjoy your truck with pride!

You made the right choice. You chose reliability over all else. Change the fluids and follow the maintenance and you'll get 400K+ out of her. Welcome from the rust belt Pa..

Welcome from another recent Tundra convert. I was just in your position in June. Thing I learned was if the previous owner took care of it, then the miles don't matter as much, especially on these trucks. The Tundra is the million mile truck after all. You're gonna love it!

I was in the same boat a couple of months ago. 90ishK miles on a 2017 for 29,xxx. Its not the truck I wanted, but I like it a lot and have no regrets on spending the money. congrats on the truck and enjoy the ride.

I have no input on the fluid change, I havent done it yet so I just dont know.

Wow. That's ridiculous. I did mine because I paid $229, and because I was in the middle of a move and just needed it done - and I'm told THAT is expensive. lol

If it makes you feel any better about it, 30k isn’t what it used to be.

It’s still the same on my paycheck, but it’s definitely not the same everywhere else.

Paid $38.5k for a 2019 (SR5 DB 4x4) with 18k miles Toyota Certified back in March of 2022.. considering the market and availability of trucks in the region you live: not bad. Enjoy to the fullest! Aug 2023 and 49k miles on the dash. Just change the oil and you'll be able to run it to the ground!
