We've been putting off replacing our carpet because we plan to start a major renovation in the next year or so, but it's so bad we realized we're avoiding having guests over. And, no, I won't post pictures. ;)

Only need to do 3 small bedrooms and a much-travelled hallway, then wil replace all flooring including this when we renovate (so all flooring is the same in our very small house). So this carpet doesn't have to last forever, but should hold up to heavy foot traffic (and construction dust)... and hairballs (we have 2 cats, so sometimes we come home to hairballs).
    :puke:

I'm headed to Home Depot to check out Memorial Day sales, realized some of you may have good suggestions.
    Please :help:

Don't carpet the hallway, will always wear more from more traffic, so tile or wood. Really liking tile that looks like wood, with small grout lines. If replacing soon, just get something cheap. Get a color that looks like the color of dirt.
I might just look into a good cleaning, not sure I would be replacing twice.

No idea what the brand of our carpet is, but we paid for the 2nd highest level of carpet grade possible. 6 weeks later we noticed a manufacturer defect that had random lines in the carpet. We are having it replaced under warranty, and are paying an extra $271 for the highest grade they have =)
I know this doesnt help you, but I felt like posting here so I did =)
