Hey Guys and gals hope you can lend a hand. Wife has an 08' Sequoia 5.7L. The truck has been a beast since new. 298K miles. About 10K miles ago truck would not start. Code was for Crankshaft position sensor. In hindsight it was probably just a bad battery but we changed the sensor with an OEM part. Took a little time to get it installed as it had to be perfectly aligned or she wouldn't start. 3K miles later on a 100 mile trip we hit a bump and it felt like the truck shut off for a millisecond. Very odd almost like trans shutter or slip but only when we hit bumps. Pulled over and she shut down with Trans temp light on but the trans temp gage was reading normal. Cooled her down and limped her home. Code was again for Crankshaft position sensor.

I checked the sensor with an ohmmeter and it was fine. This time I changed the Trans Fluid (drain and fill twice total of 5 quarts, and used techstream to ensure level is correct). Take her for a 200 mile trip she is fine. One the way back about 100 miles in hit a bump and does the partial stall again. At that point whenever I hit a bump she would hesitate and then kick back on. I noticed that If I let up off the gas pedal right as I hit the bump it would be fine with no issues. But if I had cruise engaged or kept my foot on the gas she would hesitate. This issue only happens during a long drive.. around 50-75 miles into the drive.

I took the truck to the dealer and they said there were no issues and could not replicate. Very frustrating as we use the truck for long distance trips to see the kids in college. Any advice? I know this is weird one. I checked the battery cables, starter connectors and grounds, all look good. I got under the truck and while it was running lightly tapped any visible wires to try to replicate hitting a bump at 65MPH but no luck. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Trace the wiring for the CPS and see if there's a break or loose connection somewhere. Also not sure if the CPS and AT Temp light share a common computer or harness that may also have corrosion, be loose or share a ground that could be corroded or loose.
