Knowledge 0, effort maximum, ability questionable but with your help anything is possible.

I need to install all the toys I’ve been collecting and could really use some help on how to do it. Like what wiring I need, any additional items, how to minimize wiring when multiple lights are on 1 switch and best way to go about it all.

I’ll start at the top of the truck… have 3 sets of lights on the roof rack which id like 1 switch for each side. 1 switch for 2 at left, 1 for 2 at front and 1 for 2 on right side of truck.
The front 2 lights have a harness but would ideally be able to connect both lights to 1 set of wires?IMG_1187.jpgIMG_1185.jpg

The 2 lights on each side did not come with a harness IMG_1191.jpg

There’s a solar panel to mount up there. Have these wires IMG_1155.jpg
And a controller and shut off I want to put in this boxIMG_1156.jpg
Which I want to install on the underside of the bed rack IMG_1157.jpg

I want to run all my switches for lights, weboost, Ham radio(if I need one?) here…IMG_1166.jpg

I need to run an outlet for my frig to the back seat area which I want to keep power on to frig even when the truck is off. I have this for outletIMG_1169.jpg

I’m thinking since this will be a run of power directly from battery maybe I should have my fuse box for all items in this area? Was thinking…IMG_1172.jpg
From here I can run lines up the side trim and through the top, to the switches.

I have a weboost that’ll need to mount the antenna on the roof rack & have an Ham radio which will need antennas but no idea what I need. Prob will say in the manual but maybe there are better options? I’ve read there’s short and long wave, BIL got this for me and says I can send emails through satellites when there’s no signal with it which is Badass! IMG_1174.jpg

I have these battery powered lights in the bed I really like. Soft amber to set the mood right. Would love to have these wired to a switch and battery. Maybe even a similar lighting, amber soft light for under the truck?… haven’t purchased anything for under truck but would be useful.IMG_1177.jpg
Have 2 amber lights for the back of the truck, 1 for the top and 1 for the bottom. Thinking 1 switch for bothIMG_1182.jpg IMG_1181.jpg

Need a game plan and help figuring out wiring and components I need. Hoping I can start on this next project in a month or 2. If you all can help me figure out the best way to go about it, I’d really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Add up the watts for each accessory you want to place on one circuit. Divide that by 12 (12 volt system) and that will be the amps that circuit will carry. I make it a practice to always use a properly sized relay with accessories. Using a relay will prevent you from overloading a switch from pushing too many amps through it if wired directly in line. A relay is just another switch that can carry higher amps but is controlled by a lower amp switch (your on/off switch). Once you know the amps you are dealing with for each accessory on each circuit, you will want to use the correct gauge wire (+ & -) for each accessory. Google the maximum amps the different gauge wires can carry. There are diagrams that will tell you this for each gauge wire you will need. When connecting wires, I would stay away from T-taps which can damage wiring and would opt for using Positaps/Posiconnects instead. These make a small pin hole in wiring but make a solid connection. When you wire the ground wires, keep in mind that you can ground them to the closest ground point which can be basically any bolt or screw that makes a solid ground contact. I would suggest you invest in a multimeter if you don't have one and possibly a test light. Hit us with additional questions should they come up. I am attaching relay information for your assistance.
