I was installing my alpine power pack amp under the passenger seat and the power and ground wires slapped together. I've checked all the fuses under the hood and under the drivers side dash but all have continuity. The radio turns on and I can hear very low sound - maybe coming from center dash speaker. I unplugged the harnesses I had connected to stock amp harness and plugged them back into stock amp-still nothing. No amp was connected when this happened - just the power wire and ground that should connect to the amp touched.

Are there fuses on the back of the head unit? 2016 CM 5.7 non JBL. I'm stuck on this one. I should have just went to bed when I got off this morning. Oh...its my bday too.:annoyed:

Edit: so I'm laying in bed googling this with no luck but just had a thought. I measured like 4 volts on the power wire at the amp. Maybe the fuse blew but is still barely making contact which explains why it tested good on continuity and slight voltage at the amp. That or my meter is just giving me a false voltage reading. Its my best theory at the moment. Anyone know for sure which fuse powers the amp? I'll check it in a few hours when I wake up. Just got off nightshift.

Happy Birthday! Too late but it's always a good idea to disconnect the battery.

Thanks...yeah that would have been ideal. Thank you for the bday wishes btw.

I feel pretty smart right now (besides the part when I actually slapped the wires together). :smack: The fuse was still giving me a beep during the continuity test but after pulling it, I could tell it was blown. It was the 30A AMP fuse located under the hood.
