Just bought a 2018 SR5 5.7 Double Cab 4x4 3 months ago and kicking myself for not get any kind of warranty with it. Just found out my cam tower is leaking bad and needs repair and quoted $4500. I know I need to get it done, the leak is too bad, question is: Since my whole engine is getting ripped out to fix this, is there anything else I should get replaced while it’s out? Any other seals etc.? It has 77,000 miles on it. Thank you all for your help.

They probably sold it to you that way. Maybe see if they will work with you assuming you bought it from a dealer. My 2018 Platinum had to be done as well at 40K. Luckily it was under warranty. Good Luck!

When you say leaking bad, what do you mean? Mine leaks - only enough that it drips on the heat shield in the summer when its really hot. Aside from that, it hasn't gotten worse in 40K miles. Im not touching mine unless it gets much worse.

Yes, quantify bad? If you see lots of old oil, wash it off and monitor how much it leaks.

I only know of two Tundras having this repair done and both were fixed without pulling the engine.

And while you are in there, rebuild the transmission, rear end, reupholster, new paint, etc.

I'd go with a valve spring upgrade, starter, waterpump, timing chain tensioners, drive belt tensioner and most importantly an injector upgrade and a supercharger cuz life is too GD short!!
