I want and am sold on a Tundra for my next truck but the problem is that we are getting an ATC toy hauler in the near future and I am not sure if this could be safely done. I was hoping I can get some advice If this could be done or is this a pipe dream and I should be looking at three quarter tons. The trailer is a 25 Ft front bedroom with a dry weight of 5750 lbs with a tongue weight of 1200 lbs with generator, can't talk her out of the generator or the front bedroom. I will be hauling a 1000 lb Harley in the back, maybe helping the tongue weight? In all probably around 8500 to 9000 lbs. I was interested in an SR5 crewmax with TRD off road package. Is this a pipe dream or can this be safely done? I am open to other packages if it will be better for towing. Any help would be much appreciated. I have seen the videos about towing safely. I just want this truck freackin bad.

No way I would recommend 1200 lbs of tongue weight for a Tundra. I think you need a bigger truck.

I agree. I love my Tundra, but it has it's limits (based on safety specifically). Mine tows dozens of times per year, typicality approx 6k# give of take 1k. It tows great, but with that said, if I were going to tow longer distances or more weight I personally would get a 3/4 ton. In my research most (not all) tow haulers have very/too high tongue weights for the tundra.

    Good luck with your decision.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
    Might consider an F-250 dually.

I’m hoping I don’t get flack for saying that. :crapstorm:

    Tundras are 1/2 tons.
