Near head on collision

This is what my dash cam captured yesterday. The only conclusion I can come to is that this guy either has a death wish or is otherwise unstable because this was 100% intentional. There was another car behind me in the slow lane that had to slam on their brakes. The wrong way driver whipped it back to his side of the road between my truck and the car behind me.

My 13WL's gave all they had.

For a split second I didn't brake because I thought he was making a left hand turn into that business. I've seen people do that. As he passed me I looked at his face and it was clear he was just a crazy asshole.

 

Damn! That's crazy! And of course, no front plate to give to LEOs. I don't run one either, but I also don't do stuff like this.

 

Well we don't have to run a front plate in TN. Not required. I thought about calling this in but I figured it wouldn't do any good. I feel like this guy is going to kill someone.

 

Same for WY for front plates (since mid 20teens I think) but only if the vehicle doesn't have a plate holder installed from the factory. He might have just been oblivious, thought he needed to turn there, then changed his mind, but wasn't watching traffic. The world revolved around him, don't you know?

I feel pretty confident that this was intentional based on the look he had on his face and the fact that there was no one around him in his lanes.

 

People have done crazier things. Not really surprised if it's stupidity or malice. People suck. Glad you're safe, though.

Me too. Wrong way drivers are one of my biggest fears on the road. I'm glad I was only going around 40 when I noticed him.

 

That probably would have been the main talking point for my wife.

 

That was random and sick. We usually get red light runners every once in a while, but I haven't seen this yet on our roads.

I'm betting that his phone was in his face.

 

When he passed me I got a good look at him. He wasn't on his phone at that time. He also never made any attempts to brake. He didn't have a look of fear or "I screwed up" on his face.

I really think he was just trying to scare people or worse. He came across three lanes of traffic so that's not a simple screw up.

 

I think it's time to make that phonecall.

 

I would have turned around and followed him with 911 on the phone. ESPECIALLY knowing that I had a dash cam. I have done this before and sent a drunk driver to jail.

Figures, of the very few GMC owners that I can recall meeting every single one of them was a complete c^*t.

I wonder if this is how we get a news story about some motorist who got shot and killed in road rage shooting.

While we do kid around with memes and stuff, gang, this isn't the movies and you can get hurt if that person is under the influence of the devil and possesses a firearm. Please, defensive driving is key to survival. We need you.
