Most people prefer the map to go the direction the vehicle is going. I prefer NORTH UP view.
There doesn't seem to be an option to set NORTH UP as default and every time I use the Navigation.

Anyone find a solution to this? of course I can pick North up everytime, but it doesn't remember the last setting either (that would be OK)

Hopefully theres an easy fix for this!
    Thanks!

I believe if you tape the compass icon on the screen it will switch between N up or direction travelling up.

That part I get. But it doesn't remember that it's changed to that at the next startup. Most cars it'll remember or you can default to one setting.

Ok, mine does. Did you try a reboot. Press & hold power button for 3 secs or so - also check to ensure software is up to date

Just for clarification, After you shut the truck off, and you turn the truck back on, it stays north up? I can change to north up, but I have to do it every startup.

I'm a North up guy as well and it drives me crazy to see the map continually moving. I tried what was recommended, twice actually, but my map does not stay North up. Any other suggestions? I can't believe they don't have a setting for this!

I’ve tried all with no success. It’s silly to not have the option to set the default. Literally any car I’ve driven has that feature and it’ll stay north up. I rarely use the Toyota nav and just use google with CarPlay.

Yeah, I think I'll be switching over to my Android Auto and use Google Maps.

My default orientation changes all the time and it drives me nuts. I prefer the angled view but on restarts I'll get some random setting and have to tap the compass icon to fix it. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Every other map has a setting for default orientation.

Set the map settings you prefer.
Go to *Settings / Navigation / Calibrate Map / Save.
This will save whatever state the navigation system is currently in.
    Hope this helps.

Yeah I’d abandon Toyota Nav and use Carplay/Android Auto.

Thanks for this info. I am also a "north up" person and it has been bugging me to not have it as the default.

Tried this. Map still does not stay "North Up." The only thing Map Calibration seems to do is let me adjust where I am on the map and reset North. No change when I start the map system, it still keeps the top of the map the direction the Tundra is going.

Same result for me. Still not North up by default.

Same here. I tried this a couple of times but it still apparently pocks a random orientation every time I launch the map. I like the angled track up view but I'll get North up or track up 2D usually. Not a huge deal, but odd behavior. I prefer using the built in nav vs. Apple maps or Google maps via Carplay.
