It appears I can't simply type in an address and go to my destination. When I try, the screen shows suggested places nearby, I assume are POI's, but not the address I typed in.
To set the map to where I wanted to go; I had to press the button and tell someone the address I wanted to go to, and he loaded my map. This is ridiculous. Is there a way I can set the screen to navigate an address I type in?

I have the 2023 manual. It changed slightly. My page 149 looks exactly like page 147 in your attachment. That page is discussing things you might see when you're already in a route. I read the entire section 4. It never tells you how to put a route in(except by calling and talking to someone). My last Tundra and every car I've ever driven with a navigation system, simply allowed you to type in an address and hit go.
Can this be done in the 2023? Does anyone know how to do that? I tried typing in an address, it didn't give me a route. It "suggested" points of interest in the vicinity.

Click on the magnifying glass in the navigation screen. Click search navigation. Then type in the address.

I'd suggest trying the new version of android auto, it works perfect..maps, calling, messages, music apps not an issue with any of them. My two big complaints with the Toyota app were - I had to stop sending texts using voice in my Tundra, it would arbitrary just pick a random contact to send the messages to. Two, it would usually take several minutes to connect a music app via blue tooth.

The split screen feature is nice as well if you have the large Toyota display.

Thanks guys. I clicked on the magnifying glass and entered the address. It worked this time. That was how I tried the time it didn't work. Either I had made a mistake the first time, although I don't think so, I tried several times, or this thing is going to be buggy. I've already had some other issues.
