Has anyone figured out a way to turn off the nanny beeps? I just finished running a bike event and while using the 'truck as a truck', I had to move over a closed course and deliver things to different stations. I would go maybe 50-100 feet, but it would always go crazy with the "put on your seatbelt!" beeping...Such a pain in the A** to have to put on my seatbelt to move such short distances on a closed course....I hate some of these new "features"

This also happens in my own driveway....Is there a way to stop it? In my Tacoma I disconnected that beeper, it only flashed a red seatbelt sign on the dashboard....

I wear my seatbelt religiously while driving, but this sucks.

It's really annoying when you try to imagine how much these inconveniences probably added to the cost of the vehicle. Just how much extra are we paying for these public service announcements?

Buy the Carista port dongle and download the app to your phone. There are many adjustments available through the app that allow you to select your preferences.

Anyone else have the issue where is wont even let you back up a few feet with the driver door open? I have plenty of trailer scenarios where I dont need to close the door because I'm just trying to see out and back up a little bit but have to pull both feet in and close the damn door before the truck will let me go anywhere. :goingcrazy:

Yep. Also with my door closed but no seat belt on, it would not let me disengage the parking that I engaged until until I put the belt on. It's ridiculous.

Has anyone spliced the seat belt wires together so the truck thinks it's always engaged? That might be my next step

Really? I drive around work property all the time with no seatbelt on. No parking brake issues, just the annoying chimes.

Carista has a very mixed bag of reviews, most point out that the subscription is a rip off. And the web site says nothing about 3rd gen Tundra's being on the list (only 2nd gens are listed)

Are there other vendors that do this too? Basically looking for a OBD2 scanner that is simple to use and not pricey, or is Carista the bomb?

I tried doing that in a ram with the gear selector dial. It will throw the truck in park while you're moving as a "safety" feature. You wanna talk about some god awful noises...

I purchased Carista and it worked flawlessly on my 3rd gen. Paid for the device and one month, made my changes in ten minutes and was done. Some options were the same as what you can change through settings in your truck. Like how many times the turn signal flashes for lane change on the highway. Changed mine from 3 to 5. Other things like turning off fake engine noise was easy to change and would require a trip to the dealer for most of us. I have not used the diagnostic, live data or service features so can’t comment on that part.
