Not to lead the witness but as background, I had my front windshield replaced and recalibrated. Not cheap (~$850 at Safelite) I don't recommend it.

After I found this in my cup holder. Can't figure out what it is, where it goes, and do I need it put back.

[edit] to add the part text FJB-544

I went out and took a picture of my rearview mirror area of the window from the outside of the truck. So outside shows that maybe this piece is used to black out the semi-triangular shape. Now to decide if I want to take it back to Safelite and wait 3 hrs for them to replace it and recalibrate, ugh!

Took my truck back to Safelite and showed them the part. Confirmed that it is part of the forward camera assembly, however the one left behind is from the old OEM window. They put in an aftermarket window that came with a replacement shroud. Dude quickly pulled the cover off of the forward camera and showed me that a similar part was already installed.
