Mystery stain on the dash

My Buddy sent these pics of a stain in his 2018 Tundra that seems to be a bit stubborn. He doesn’t have a clue what caused it. I have used 303 cleaners with a modicum of success, but wanted to check with the braintrust first. Any thoughts

Joking aside, it looks like a paper towel was used aggressively to clean it up.

Hard to tell in photos, but it could be towel dust

 

Obvious jokes aside, which I thought of many, I agree with @biebs96 , it looks like residue from an previous cleaning attempt.

I Google searched for images of "submarine races at Inspiration Point" like in Happy Days, but didn't get the funny picture I hoped for, 'cuz it turns out both submarine races and inspiration point are actual things.

Did he happen to use one of those air freshener bombs? On occasion those will leave a similar residue. I’ve had success with Meguair’s PlastX to get it off. It’s available at Walmart and auto parts stores. Go lightly with it since that stuff is made to take scratches and oxidation out of clear plastic. Just avoid putting much pressure on it.

I should have figured I worded the post poorly . The more I looked, the worse it got. I think I channeled my inner Beavis and Butthead. Carry on.

Seems a little aggressive, but I guess you really don't wanna' mess around with spooge on yer dash..

 

Try furniture polish on a microfiber. Should take it off if it’s paper towel dust or soap residue. Also doesn’t cause the wet look and repels dust.
