Found today during an oil change. The worker said they found this under my truck, or in my skid plate (he was not very clear). Any help on if this goes to my truck? 2018 tundra Sr with the 4.6. They said they didn't see anything missing.20220903_103040.jpg 20220903_103035.jpg

Looks similar to the one that goes on the 5.7 L metal oil filter housing. Do you have a metal oil filter housing?

I would'nt say its the oil filter plug only because the tool hole looks to be some security bit. Also if his filter drain plug wasnt in he'd have oil everywhere.

The filter drain plug doesn’t allow oil out without inserting the plastic “tool”.

True forgot about that but seeing as it does have an o ring Im guessing oil would still leak out while the engine is running possibly? Still the oil filter plug uses a square bit.

I agree that the hole in the OP looks a bit different then the square 3/8” drive hole…

If it is that plug cover you wouldn't have oil coming out, it only comes out when you insert the plastic tool.

Could it be the Doorman brand?

Pretty sure they use the same cap on both the metal and plastic housings.

Looks a lot like a diff or transfer case plug, but I believe they have crush washers not o rings.
