Hey all, been trying to figure out what this is. Came installed by the previous owner of my 2018 SR5 4x4.

Can anyone shed some light on what this might be?

That looks like a microphone. Maybe activated by the central button on the underside?

Aha, so I had a hunch it might be alarm related and it segues into the other questions I was planning to ask:

I've been annoyed at how easily my alarm goes off and also of the "warning" honks it gives when someone gently bumps the truck. In fact, I saw the old lady from a few doors down putting a note under my wiper blade the other day and when she lifted the blade, the truck honked at her in rapid succession. Thought she was going to have a heart attack.

Is the "Karr Alarm" the reason for the sensitivity, or is it a separate thing? Will removing it fix this? I also don't like how the truck honks when I lock OR unlock it... terrible for camping... Hoping I can remove that function as well.

    Thanks for the help.

I am certain that it is a government device. It both listens to your conversations and tracks if you drive in an environmentally friendly manner.

I'm not aware of the Tundra having a stock alarm with shock sensor. So my guess would be yes.

Yes. I have an 18 and my kids have crawled all over the truck without the alarm making any sound.

:rofl:Well, that's one redeeming feature. Was her note critical of your parking? Consider it elder aversion training.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Looks like I just need to remove all the added wiring and solder the ignition wire back together and it should be back to stock.

Ha, not exactly critical. She has a weird obsession with neighborhood vehicles blocking the streetsweeper from doing its job every wednesday morning when multiple people have pointed out to her that it only comes around once a month... What're ya gonna do
