Does anyone have any idea what this button/module is? I purchased my '22 Limited a few weeks ago and haven't been able to figure out what this button is. Any insight would be appreciated.

To me it looks like an aftermarket switch.

Didn't figure it was. I've never seen an aftermarket button installed like that though. Every switch I installed in my Tacoma was clearly labeled in a blank switch spot. Just making sure it's not a tracking module or something.

And now you'll have ugly screw holes in your dash plastic. I hate when people do shit like this.

In my '08 Tundra I had a similar switch added when I added fog lights. There were none on the truck originally.

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

Yes it is and it is a POS that dealers buy for $20, put on every vehicle and then try to sell to you for hundreds of $$ at time of purchase. Problems, besides it being a POS are that they install them with cheap scotch lock connectors that weaken the wires and the holes put in your dash to screw that button on. When I bought my truck, I had it written into the purchase contract that they would remove it, fix the wire harness, and replace the dash panel.

I bought the truck used, which makes me wonder if it was installed new or at the dealer I bought it from. There was no upcharge on the paperwork for a security system, and I declined all add-ons. That makes me think it was installed when the original owner bought the truck. Unfortunately, I had flown out of state to pick up the truck and drive it 11+ hours home. I didn't exactly have time to ask them to remove it even if I had noticed it at the dealer.

If you purchased you truck used, it may be GPS. Some finance companies install them to keep track of the vehicle for easier repo. However they normally hide them from the consumer so said purchaser can't remove it.

It’s a Pursuit/Audiovox piggy back alarm used by dealers to lock and unlock their inventory without the need to store keys inside the showroom. When the buyer is in finance it is offered as a “full featured” alarm as an added cost. F&I guy/gal typically will lower your APR if you purchase. If buyer doesn’t purchase, it will be deactivated. LED are dormant and system is useless and can be removed. LED flashes GREEN if it’s activated as a shock sensor,
BLUE if it’s a keyless upgrade, and RED when given additional key fobs.
It is not monitored by GPS in any way.
