Mystery button under dash

So I bought my 2014 platinum used less than a month ago. Had the head unit replaced but that's all I've done. I noticed this thing a couple weeks ago and realized yesterday that it has a button on it.



Now I'm really curious what it is. Anyone else have one? Couldn't find info on it in the manual so I'm guessing it's not stock. Perhaps the stereo guys installed it?

 

could be a kill switch for an after market alarm. It is definitely aftermarket.

 

Someone posted a thread a while back similar to this. Turned out to be an aftermarket alarm thing as I recall.

It's either the rocket launcher, the smoke screen, or an ejector seat... Probably best to have the mother-in-law push it first.

Fords need a button to self destruct? Thought that was automatic after 100k miles?

 

Every wonder why some just shit the bed at 37k? "before we look into the warranty, did you hit the button?"
