Hi, I'll cut straight to the chase.

It's well documented on this forum to order OEM ball joints for all first-gen Tundra's. Particularly with the more expensive OEM hardware on the later model Tundra's, all in one "recall kits" with discounted prices are desirable. With places like McGeorge Toyota still offering these kits, they're a great buy. The part numbers for these kits are well documented, but I was hoping to find a similar kit for my own Tundra

    My Tundra: 2001 (08/00 Manufacture date) AC SR5 4WD.

In my search for such a kit, I found this service campaign

On page 3 (Heading #6, Parts Ordering), two different recall kits are listed. The one that interests me is the kit designed for Tundra's manufactured from "Agust 2001~ Agust/July 2002". Kit #04005-04134 as seen in the picture below:

I infer that this kit is for the early model year 2002 Tundras.

A web search (and a tundras.com) search for this kit's part number yields nothing but ebay & toyotapartsdeals listings as well as a confused Double Cab owner who had stumbled across the same service campaign.

A quick parts cross-reference shows that all 2000-2002 Tundra's use the same front ball joints, PN 43330-39446, as seen here:

    Fitment for Part #43330-39446:

Hypothesis: The 2002 Tundra recall kit works flawlessly in all 00-02 Tundras.

McGeorge Toyota Offers kit 04005-04134 here

At $186.46, It's slightly more expensive than just the two ball joints by themselves ($171.60), but I'm assuming that, like the other kits, this one comes with all the hardware (bolts, cotter pins, castle nuts).

Is this kit a convenient one-stop-shop for 00-02 owners, or am I still better off just rounding up all the hardware by itself and then ordering?

It doesn't look like a real money saver, but it might save me and others time in recommending, ordering, and locating a quality OEM ball joint kit.

    Thanks for your time.
