Just sharing….
Not sure when they started putting CarPlay in Tundras but mine had the old factory entune. It had a weather map that I really liked. I eventually installed an aftermarket HU with CarPlay and found myself missing the weather map.

never could find a good one for CarPlay but the MyRadar app was updated earlier this year to be CarPlay compatible.

I stick to Apple Maps or google maps for navigation but it’s easy to swap over every once in a while to see the weather ahead especially when traveling. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I like it. And it’s easy to swap maps with Siri.

I just tell Siri to show me my radar and I get the map



You can map a route then clear it if you want. It will quit providing navigation but you can still see the route and where you are. It’ll show a route, the map and road conditions.



I see what need to see then tell Siri to switch to Apple Maps or to google maps.




it’s actually been pretty helpful when traveling. I sat out a pretty bad storm on the way to Houston a couple of weeks ago. Watched for the weather opening and took off.

 

Been looking for a radar weather CarPlay App for my ‘23 Tundra. Finally found one, thanks to your post!

 

I just wish it would show the movement of the storm instead of just being stationary but it’s better than nothing.

 

Watch My Radar on mobile apps. They sell your driving habits to subsidiary or Allstate insurance and they in turn sell that data to your insurance company. Gas buddy is another

 

Animation would be great. It does refresh after a while. 10 or 15 minutes maybe. I haven’t timed it but I wish it was more frequent.

 

You’re probably right. I’m guessing anyone like them, Google or other navigation apps do that. I did click the buttons in their privacy settings, but who knows if that makes a difference.

 

Life360 is another one that sells your information that can be purchased by your insurance company.
