On Friday I take my Tundra on it's first Road trip its about 1300-1400 miles one way because the wife and I are visiting my family in Connecticut. I am very confident with the Tundra and I am excited to take it over the Honda. (We are actually bringing some stuff back home from CT which warranted taking the Tundra which helped that decision) :) Currently my Tundra has 5200 miles on it and we have had it for 7 months now. (Purchased in May of this year) I will keep you posted by letting you know when I leave which will be Friday evening and when we arrive. :)

Just got back from my tundras first trip. 1700 total miles no problems. I had to fill up there and back a total of 5.5 times. Totally worth the comfort and room it provided us. Good luck! Make sure to carry all the tools you might need!

Took mine to the beach this year instead of the sienna. Was a great trip and comfortable ride, wasn't as sore as usual after the trip. Have fun!

I love road tripping in my Tundra. So comfortable, roomy, and last long trip I averaged 18.4 mpg(US).

Thanks for the replies guys its awesome to hear the positive feedback for those that have already done a road trip in The Tundra. :) Adriver71x thanks for the heads up on the weather I have been checking the weather on and off and it is always good to get input from the locals and I will never dismiss it. Love road tripping the tundra. Don’t worry about the miles! I’m at 125k now with only regular maintenance.

My wife drives a 2016 Cadillac CTS, I have my 2007 CM Tundra. It doesn’t matter if we are going to the store or out for the evening and yes road trips out of state we take my truck. Don’t get me wrong I like the CTS but it not my truck. The room, the ride you can’t beat it. Since you are going long distance this time of the year you couldn’t be in a better vehicle for whatever weather you run into. You and your wife be safe and enjoy your holiday and have the peace of mind that your truck will get you there and return you home safely. Happy holidays.

You must have been driving downhill all the way to get that kind of mileage.

Shouldn't be a problem. Most any car can make a 1500 mile trip without problems. As long as you keep up with maintenance and check over the basics there's really nothing to worry about.

Edit. Oh that's one way. Well that's a good distance. Should be nice and comfy in the truck!

Love my Tundra CM for road trips. I have done any single trips quite that long but in the year I have had mine it has made 4 runs from Dallas to the TX coast, 2 trips to Houston, 2 trips to Austin, 3 trips to Oklahoma City, 2 trips to Tulsa OK, and 1 weekend trip to Bentonville and Little Rock Arkansas.

This is one of the best road trip vehicles I have ever owned.

Laughing at this because we do a long drive every summer from TX to the OBX in North Carolina. We have always taken my wife's Pilot so each of our 2 kids can have their own row. Having the 3rd row up requires me to have a rooftop box and a hitch basket but that is better than WWIII staring in my backseat.

Yup...it’s only 2 ½ hours but I value my sanity too much. This trip too will require a roof box solely because we must use the third row.

No sir. Return trip from BC interior down to Portland and the Oregon coast, back inland and up Hwy 97 through Washington. That was trip average, hand calculated (dash display was slightly conservative) a couple of individual fill-ups were even better. Heavy crosswinds and the hilly terrain coming up through WA hurt the average a bit, but overall that’s what it was.

I am putting a Video camera on the dash above the center console. I am going to end up driving through rain for the second half of the trip. Outside of Cities there really isn't much scenery until I get too Penn State on I-80 however that is when I will hit the rain. :( Cities I will be going through before I hit Penn State though are my home City of Kansas City, St. Louis (won't see arch though taking 270) Indy, Dayton OH, Columbus OH, Akron then Youngstown.

I have taken the tundra on a road trip. Combined 2,300 miles round trip. Best road trip vehicle especially if you have a Crew Max, cargo in the bed, snuggle in the back seats. It rained almost the whole way on my trip and I have to say those stock Michelin tires are great in the rain. Can’t wait for another road trip in the tundra.

On a road trip right now. My son is driving the first stretch, I am relaxing in die passenger seat and wife, daughter and mother-in-law in the back. Tons of room. Bed is loaded like a tetris game with Christmas gifts and suitcases. Works great for road trips (my other vehicles are a Camry and a Prius so this is the obvious choice, other than the gas bill)
