    IMG_2946.jpg Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to find an exhaust that is pretty loud but clean. I currently have a muffler delete but in second gear, the exhaust is loud but has like a fart sound to it. I love the noise level of the muffler delete but hate that one thing. I’ve been looking at resonators but I don’t know if that will fix it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, there’s a few videos on YouTube with a muffler delete that shows the sound. Keep in mind, I want to keep my cats because I live in California and won’t pass smog without it. Just like a more refined sound, that’s all.

Do you have a sound clip of it? Is it more of a wet fart sound or more like a dry popcorn type fart sound?

    ^ This.

Maybe try his resonator and see if that helps.
I first tried it with a Magnaflow muffler and ended up replacing the Magnaflow (that had the drone from Hell) with one of Keith's BAM systems.

Interesting, I always assumed that in states such as Cali with required inspections that a muffler delete would be a disqualifier for certification. Further reading shows that they are only concerned with emissions and not with illegal missing mufflers. I can understand getting away with it here in SC where they don't give a monkeys so long as you keep your registration up to date but it surprises me that the same would apply to states that check vehicles.

It appears you are correct. Also looks like every state reserves the right.

I'm just surprised that it's something that can get through a regular test schedule

Visual inspection can be more stringent just depends on the person at the time.

It’s definitely more of a wet sound. I do have a clip of it, but I’m not sure how to show it on here. Best way to describe it is almost like a squatted truck sound (idk if you’ve heard their exhausts before but it sounds like a wet fart).

Yea for regular smog inspections, they only care about your cats and to make sure you don’t have a tune. Unless you get pulled over and state reffed by an officer. Then you have to go to the police department and do a much more thorough inspection. But people act like cops here care so much about your tint and exhaust. As long as you don’t drive like a douche, most cops won’t pay any mind.

Half of the vehicles in poorer parts of ca are in such disrepair, vehicle inspections would NEVER be politically acceptable here.

I did a muffler delete on my gen 1, it wasnt that loud with the full pipe and cats
