Bought my new TRD Tacoma in 2001, and just sold it for, almost, what I paid back then. There's an interesting story here, about how I arrived as the owner of a Tundra. We thought we wanted a Sprinter van for travel, but found ourselves buying a slightly used 21' travel trailer. It is single axel and 4000 lbs. I was thinking the Tacoma would be fine to pull it, but in the back of my mind I knew there may be some challenges, not the least of which would be towing up any grades. I, also, tried desperately to figure out how to set up a brake controller, and almost paid $600. to someone for a rewiring to install what's necessary, and get the round tow plug attached, since it only has the 4 flat. There was also the consideration for getting a weight distribution hitch.

The various limitations started to pile up with the Tacoma and I finally had the epiphany that it just was not going to be powerful enough to do the job. I immediately got online and did a search for a used Tundra. The very first listing was exactly what I wanted. Mint 2014 w/28K original miles. It even had a new ARE camper shell on it and Yakima rack system. I had been searching to replace the shell on my Tacoma, without success, so this was amazingly perfect. My wife said, "you found the shell, and it comes with a new truck".

Anyway, it was the evening, so I send an email of interest for the Tundra, then went down to the dealer next morning, and drove home in it. While I was waiting for paperwork, I listed the Tacoma for sale, and before I got home, I had received 4 offers. It was meant to be.

Now I am happily researching all the potential on the Tundra, which is what led me here.
