My Drivers Side Window Wouldn't Go Back Up

Hopefully I'm putting this in the right spot. I brought the truck into the dealership for it's tire rotation and oil change. All went well. They had it waiting for me with the window rolled down when it was ready to go. It rolled up without a problem.
About an hour later, I was visiting my special needs brother-in-law and, as I was leaving, he came outside to ask me a question. I rolled the window down. Talked to him for a minute and then it wouldn't roll back up. No noise, nothing. It's only about 800 degrees here in Texas right now.

Because I'm a mechanical genius, I immediately assumed the little leprechaun living in the drivers side door that pushes/pulls the window up and down on command had died. As I was driving back home, I kept hitting the switch, and the window would come up a little and then stop. I'd push the switch down and it would go back down. I kept doing it back and forth and the window finally shut.

So, again, being a mechanical genius, I pushed down on the switch and it went down. Then I had to fiddle with it back and forth until I could finally get it to shut again.

Bad switch? Weird fuse? Angry leprechaun? Any ideas?Leprechaun_Tapped_Out.png

Are you opposed to pulling the door panel? Might be bound up or something in the window track. Getting that panel off would allow a lot more troubleshooting.

Maybe the glue that holds bottom of window to the 2 U channel brackets came undone??? I had this issue, turned out the glue came undone, had to go to a auto glass distributor shop buy glue and primer the (good stuff you can't find at auto store) no issues anymore

Thanks - I normally would dive right in and take the panel off but it's so damn hot and I have no garage. At first I was hoping it was a fuse but when it started coming back up, I knew that wasn't it.

I had an Xterra (don't judge me!!) before I could afford a Toyota and the belt or whatever made the window go up and down would bust and the window would just fall. I could literally just pull it up. The Tundra window was solid. There was no wiggle.

I'll probably just drive back to the dealership on Monday.

One of the mechanics yelled "Have a good day, sir!" as I was leaving. That never happens and he looked kinda squirrelly. Maybe I got set up. :)

With auto up windows if something is in the track it will stop from going up. Down not an issue

Maybe try some silicone lubricant and it’ll clean out the channel

How many miles do you have on it, and any factory warranty left?

Have you tried using the window controls on the passenger door also?

And isnt "leprechaun" not politically correct anymore? I think we are supposed to call them "little drunks" these days.

That's a great suggestion - I think I may have some around here somewhere - thank you.

Around 22k and I have the Platinum warranty so it should be covered. I just hate having them open anything up if it's something I can do, you know?

A millennial Leprechaun would be living in their parents basement. It's a least a Gen X Leprechaun.

Ahem, I believe "little" is derogatory these days.

So we are still good to call people drunks, right?
