I got myself a 2020 trd pro grill for my 2015, but I wasn’t going to pay for a bulge, so I painted mine, and I wasn’t going to pay for a Toyota garnish...and didn’t feel like paying even what the fake ones are asking. So I made my own, and since I don’t have tss it’s only aesthetic and doesn’t matter. Here are some pictures that describe what I did. I’ll post another pic to show how it looks. Yes I realize the pattern I drew on the piece when I was fitting it is wrong. I e since obviously fixed this.

I got my grill and everything put in today. I painted the rectangle area on the grill where the garnish goes with some adhesion promoter followed by flat black enamel. This made that area sort of disappear when I have my glossy painted garnish in there. I glued the garnish in with some gorilla contact cement and tie wrapped it in place today. I’ll post another pic and some close ups with I remove the tie wraps tomorrow

I removed the tie wraps today and took a couple of pics. This garnish cost me zero dollars and unlike the oem ones this one really blends in when far away and looks decent when close. I am very happy with it and recommend this to anybody putting a new grill on an older non tssp truck.

Very clever. How long did it take to flatten the pipe?

I can’t remember but it wasn’t long. I had the electric griddle set to 325*F though and that got it really soft and pliable.
