Well, i've got a build thread started on a few overlanding group forums, but non on any Tundra specific forums. This might be the best place for it.

To note, I do run an overlanding group. We frequently do trips and go offroading as a group. If you see me mention "Midwest Overlanders" a lot here, im not advertising, its just who we are and what we go by.

****I'm doing a bit of cutting & pasting from other build threads**** time line isn't 100% accurate****

I bit the bullet today (Oct 3rd, 2015) and picked up my truck. After initially not thinking that I would ever find a TRD Pro, my wife and I were a bit shocked when we found on in stock at our local dealership in the color that we wanted. The weekend started out pretty ****, with a trip to the Overland Expo East cut short by the crappy hurricane rain, but in the end it turned out in my favor. Thanks Joaquin!

    Fast Forward 9 months:
I've had the truck for 9 months now and i've put over 12,000 miles on it. Been on a few trips throughout the midwest and southern states. Been through the Hoosier National Forest a dozen or so times, Daniel Boone National forest, Land between the Lakes, ran the Tennessee Dirt Devil, and went fly fishing in Pennsylvania. I've had a lot of fun adventures so far.

    Update: July 2016
    _____________________________________________________________________________

I've yet to do many mods to the truck. We just introduced our first child into the mix, so time and money really has played a part in that. Luckily I have an amazing wife and for my recently celebrated 30th birthday, she told me to go get new tires for the truck.

I went with Cooper STT Pros in 295/70R18 after having many conversations with my group.

I decided to see what my ground clearance was with the new tires on. I measured from the lowest point on my front skid plate to the ground and got 12.25". Not too shabby for an off the floor stock truck.

I think this tire setup really makes the truck finally look like it should, stout and beefy. The stock Michelin LTX A/T2 were a great all season tire, amazing in the snow, and super smooth on the road. I was actually surprised how well they got me through the midwest mud as well. But it was time for something new. A 32" tire just looks odd in the large wheel wells of these newer Tundras. I sold the Michelins for $500 and picked up the new set of Coopers for $1250. I still need to get a full size spare, but need to figure out what to do with it. The new size won't fit in stock location and I don't want a $300 tire sitting in the bed of my truck unprotected.

The one thing that I don't like about this tire setup is how close they are to the UCA. The STT Pros are a rather nobbie tire and my stock TRD Pro rims have a +60 offset. They clear, but are close enough for discomfort. I really like my stock wheel setup, so what i'm going to try to do is run spacers. I'm not a big fan of this idea, but the tires have been bought and i'd prefer to stick to my stock wheels.

Spidertrax 1.25" spacers will hopefully be installed this week.

In preparation for tire rub, i've gone ahead and ordered Relentless Fabrications BMC plates and plan to do the inner fender liner mod.

I've heard really good things about the Spidertrax. I feel like if I have to run a spacer, these should suffice until I decide to run an aftermarket wheel or not. Looking forward to modifications and getting this out to explore more. I've been spending a lot of time locally in the Hoosier National Forest (it's 1.5 hrs from the house) which makes it nice to get the newborn out and in the woods without being too far away from home in an emergency situation.

Thanks for looking! I'm really looking forward to digging into this build and get out there and having some fun.

Update: August 2016 - After spacer install
    ______________________________________________________________________________________
The spacers worked well. Everything cleared just fine without them, but I get into enough offroad situations that I didn't want to take a chance with the knobby STT Pros coming into contact with the UCA. Before I couldn't get a finger through, not I can get my entire hand through.

I really thought I was going to have to the BMC, but it didn't rub even when aired down to 22psi for offroad use. Since I have the plates already, I will probably go ahead and install them since i'm going to be adding a lot of weight in armor to the truck in the coming months. The BMC should gain me 1/2" clearance in the rear of the wheel well.

Instead of heating up and molding the front inner fender liner, I just removed them. I have plans on a new bumper anyhow.

Badland ORP, Attica IN - August 2016
Finally got the Cooper STT Pros out to play this past weekend at the Badlands ORP in Attica, IN. We are hitting up the White Rim Trial and Moab up in April, so I figured it was time to get some offroad time in. I was running at 35psi on the streets, so I aired down to 22psi for the park.

We had a great turn out for the event!

I had traction for days, no matter the terrain (rock, sand, mud)

This stock SR5 Tundra pulled up and parked next to me in the AM. On the way out it was still there, so I figured I'd take the opportunity shot next to a stock truck :)

After this outing, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Cooper STT Pros. I will prob end up running these for the foreseeable future and may even throw them on the 4Runner when the time comes.

Just got back a couple days ago from P&P Engineering with a set of prototype sliders for a crew max. These things are stout as hell and can't wait for the paint to cure to go try them out.

The mounting is different from anything that i've seen in the Yota world. P&P currently makes production Nissan offroad gear, but are venturing into the Toyota world starting out with the Tundra. Here in the near future we'll be building a bed rack, skids, and front/rear bumpers for the truck.

    Photo dump, you've been warned!

Needless to say, i'm pretty happy with how they turned out. P&P is based out of a small town near Warsaw, Indiana. It's currently a two man show with the help of another Fabricator from time to time as they share a shop together. These guys went above and beyond what I wouldve ever expected them to during the build process. They also asked for my input during the entire build.

If you have any questions let me know. Once the paint is completely cured I plan to slap them back on the truck and go give them a test run.

*Update* - As long as the rain holds off today, I plan on getting out there to install these. We have a trip to Red River Gorge (RRG) coming up over labor day weekend, so I'm going to put these to use on the DBBB.

Thanks man! I'm loving the truck. We also bought a matching 4Runner, but its my wifes daily. We plan on decking it out as well, but it wont see the trail use that the Tundra gets. I'm a stay at home dad, so we can afford for my truck to break easier that her daily. **fingers crossed, neither breaks**

Some goodies arrived! Got the CVT Mt. Rainier extended summit series tent, the Front Runner slim line II rack, and the ARE CX HD cap in. The ARE got installed yesterday. I have a few buddies coming over tomorrow to help install the rack and tent.

Looks like a fun build! If you need anything, let us know! After that river side driving picture, I'd definitely recommend you get the Secondary Air Intake Pump Relocation Kit.

We do make our own in-house, could save you thousands down the road.

It has some view now, but once I get my full size spare tire on it'll be almost completely blocked.
