MPP Protection Plan?

Hey guys, I am pretty sure that I got bent over on this. Scumbag salesman put me into a MPP Protection Plan ($3800) and a Wheel and Tire ($1400), and my local service department is not honoring either.

Did anyone else get fed this warranty or is it just me who was stupid enough.

I am 23 years old and paid cash for a TRD Pro— I know that as soon as I walked in, all they saw was dollar signs... What should I do and how do I cancel it?

 

They too got me god at the stealership. I ended u going in to the finance department of the dealership and just told them I wanted to cancel both the extended warranty as well as the extended maintenance plan. You just have to go in and sign some paperwork.

 

You should be able to cancel it. Call the dealer and finance manager and state you want to cancel. I would also send an email (paper trail) notifying them as well. You have 3yr/36k miles to purchase the Toyota one. There's a big thread about this topic

Man this is absolutely insulting and highway robbery. You guys need to read what you signing and break it down man. You could be signing your lives away for what I care

 

Just to clarify, Dealers quite often sell products that have no relationship to Toyota to line their pockets with extra profits. What exactly is MPP? I have never heard of it....

 

Go cancel it immediately, file a complaint as well.

 

How exactly should I file the complaint? When I reach out to the Finance Manager who sold me the Warranty, and say things like "Let me talk to your supervisor," he refuses to answer.

 

You can complain to the Dealers General Manager, or Toyota Corporate, or Better Business Bureau, or your states Consumer Protection Agency, lots of places to complain to...

 

I'd make a separate call and ask for the manager, I'd also file a complaint with Toyota corporate. Shady shit like this is unacceptable to me, total bad faith business practices.

Go back to your dealer ASAP. Paperwork in hand. Demand to talk to El Hefe. Show him/her your paperwork with the MPP and wheel and tire bs highlighted. Tell him/her you want both canceled. Now

 

Dealers sell all kinds of products in the finance office...there is a local Toyota dealer to me that has his own warranty company and sells those aftermarket products at his stores and other dealerships. Any warranty other than factory regardless of brand is just an aftermarket insurance company like Carshield. Some dealers, Carmax for example, are their own bank and warranty company. MPP MMP whatever, all the same on the surface but...will they pay a claim? Will they cap labor rate? (yes consumer eats the difference) all are sold as a protection plan. There are better ones out there and total gaffs. Bottom line? If you're buying new or Factory Certified Used (lots of dealers say there cars are "certified" and that in the name of many companies but the only one you can be sure of is the Manufacturer's Certified Extended Warranty or Service Contract. Like Toyota Care or Apple Care. And you have the peace of mind of a national franchise with locations all across the USA.

 

I am assuming OP bought it from a different dealership. He didn't say in his initial post. He also didn't say what he was needing done that wasn't honored. I need more info before I would give any advice on getting rid of it. He may have been trying to do something that he thought is covered and isn't covered by the plan he bought but it may be a good plan. Paying cash has no bearing on the complaint. Age does factor in because if you had parents or grandparents they probably would have been helpful in your decision making.

 

Don't bother, they're all together on this very profitable gig. Just ask them to cancel and refund, and buy Toyota factory warranty from Jerry on this forum

 

since this is a dealer 3rd party plan, toyota wont have anything to enforce or deal with here since its outside the scope of toyota usa (not a toyota usa extended warranty backed plan)

 

All my vehicles I’ve purchased have the MPP protection plus care and club plus and have have taken advantage of them many times. Sounds like there’s a miscommunication, something missing from the story or the plans are not active yet mpp system. MPP is one of the good ones.
