Since I had the awesome opportunity to mount/dismount my tires off the beadlocks, why not do a “know how” thread.

Disassembling is pretty self explanatory. Remove air valve or bleed air out. Remove beadlock outer ring (unless you have dual beadlock wheels). You will need a tire shop to break the inner bead and dismount tire. Might I recommend Walmart. They did it for me in four minutes and cost me 5.00.

Mounting is the more technical part.

    Parts needed:

New hardware. Go to Fastenal or granger. Best bulk pricing. Can of good beer.

Lube. Everything is better with lube. I just use Dawn and some water.

    Hammer and wooden dowel. Beer.

    5/16 18 tap.

    Antiseaze.

1/2” socket, driver/or ratchet, beer, torque wrench.

    Homer bucket.

    Sharpie

Beer. Do not run out of this. Most important.

    Procedure:

Place beadlock wheel on Homer bucket.

This is a great time to chase all your beadlock mounts. Do this every time. You will thank me later. I just put the tap in a drill and clean them out really quick.

Next, time to kick your own ass and mount the tire on the wheel.

Lube time. Take a drink of beer.

Lube the inside bead of the tire. Make sure you are mounting the tire correctly if directional. I heard it sucks to go back into the shop and bust the tire off the wheel you just brought in....so I’ve heard.

Work the tire on the wheel and then use a tire iron or a hammer/wooden dowel and knock the bead past the outside rim.

Once the tire is past the outside rim, pretty easy from here. Shotgun a beer.

Center the tire on the inside rim, use lube and the hammer to seat the bead inside the rim. I use a brass hammer, but use what ya got.

Once tire is seated, get new hardware out and ready.

Clean inside of beadlock ring, take burrs off, which in my case can be very time consuming due to the condition of my rings.

Center ring on top of outer bead, install 4 or so bolts with plenty of antiseaze. Take drink of beer.
Tighten down evenly so ring is centered and seals. Do not get crazy with tightening down. These only require 15-20 ft lbs of torque.

Now start installing more bolts between all these first bolts, tighten down in cross section pattern until all bolts are installed. In my case, 36.

Now it’s time to torque these grade 8 bolts down.

In a crossed pattern torque to manufacturers specs. In my case, 18 ft lbs. use the sharpie to mark the ones that are finished torqued.

At this point most people run back over all the bolts to check if everything is at proper torque.

    Air up time.

Check for leaks and install wheel and tire.
